Vanilla Twilight

She stared up at the sky. She couldn't even begin to think of how much she missed him. She thought of how he would hold her hands in his to warm them. He'd smile at her and she'd grin softly back. After a moment, she'd work her hands free and move in to sit by his side. He'd tuck her hair behind her ear, moving his hand slowly to brush his fingers along her cheek. She'd blush, and he'd laugh. They would kiss and lightning would make her heart jump. She'd sit back and keep some distance between them for the moment, but as soon as he saw her shiver, he'd wrap his arm around her shoulder and let her cuddle close to his chest. She'd lay her head over his heart and let it whisper to her. She'd close her eyes and sigh softly, while he ran his hand up and down her arm.

He'd let her fall asleep against him, happy just to be with her. He'd be more than happy just knowing that she felt safe. He'd kiss her when she woke, and she'd move to kiss him back. He'd wrap his arms around her waist and hold her, telling her that she was beautiful. When she'd look down, blushing, he'd tilt her chin back up to make her eyes meet his, promising her that it was the truth. When she'd deny it a second time, he'd sigh and shake his head. He'd take her hand again and smile. He couldn't even begin to think of how much he missed her. He stared up at the sky.
